Mariner House Board of Directors Meeting December 20, 2022

A Mariner House Board of Directors meeting was held via telephone conference call on Tuesday, December 20, 2022.  All Board members were present, as well as newly-elected member Bob Vanasse. President Bill Hathaway called the meeting to order at 6:04PM.  Tracy Canty also participated.

Marty DeMartino, the current treasurer, was thanked for his extensive service to the Board and Mariner House and wished well in his “retirement”.  Bob Vanasse was welcomed as a new Board member.

PROPERTY MANAGER REPORT

  • Mariner House was quiet in November with only 33% occupancy, although things picked up following Thanksgiving and into Stroll. December has been very active to date.
  • Weather has been windy and inclement, with many boat cancellations.
  • Covid 19 and Flu cases are on the rise.
  • Most interval sales and transfers should be completed by year-end, excepting Hubbard E20 to Tegtmeier. Once complete, B12 will be the only MH-owned interval.
  • Columbia cabinets have been selected and ordered. Installation is scheduled for March assuming cabinets arrive when promised.
  • Maintenance fee mailings are complete. Some payments are already in.
  • No further action on the India Street foundation. .

 

OLD BUSINESS

 

  • No further action on levels of insurance coverage, deductibles, and premium impacts. Tracy will follow up with Susan Dragon, the Mariner House insurance agent .

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

  • Board of Directors Officers: .

Gloria Kunz nominated Bill Hathaway for President; seconded by Kerric Harvey

Gloria Kunz nominated Tammy Rausch for Treasurer; seconded by Kerric Harvey

Kerric Harvey nominated Gloria Kunz for Secretary; seconded by Mark Thurston.

Mark Thurston moved to close nominations; seconded by Gloria Kunz.  President Bill Hathaway moved the secretary cast a ballot in favor of above nominations, seconded by Eileen Fox and passed with unanimous approval.

  • Under current by-laws, should the President be unable to serve for any reason, the presidency is assumed by the current treasurer. Kerric Harvey suggested we discuss the possibility of adding the position of Vice-President.  This is tabled for future discussion.

 

There being no further business, Gloria Kunz moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:30; seconded by Eileen Fox.
