PROPERY MANAGER REPORT

Island news:

  • As usual, January on Nantucket was very quiet, excepting one extremely treacherous storm.
  • Sewer work continues.
  • No charges were levied against the suspected destroyer of the Main Street fountain.
  • Implementation of the new Steamship Authority website caused major access problems. An extremely busy season is projected.
  • The Sconset Market has been sold to Sconset Trust. It will continue to operate as a market.
  • Geo tubes are being installed in Sconset as part of the beach preservation project to mitigate erosion.
  • Habitat for Humanity has received $4M for the building of affordable housing.

Mariner House News:

  • January occupancy was 13%.
  • New carpeting for Fame has been installed.
  • Painting still delayed because of weather.
  • New appliances have been installed.
  • Fee payments continue to come in.
  • Foreclosures are moving forward.
  • Construction of the new front door is in process.

OLD BUSINESS

Still no progress on the WiFi /wireless mesh.  A meeting between the electrician and networking vendor is necessary to determine possible re-use of existing cables.  Bob will follow up with Nantucket Networks as we are still awaiting the proposal for cable television and possible replacement of landline telephone service. It is critical that this project be completed before the replacement of current TV sets with smart TVs, and before Mariner House gets busy as the Spring season approaches.

Interval A-14 has sold.  The remaining intervals for sale are B-10 and D-10.

NEW BUSINESS

  • A question was raised as to the vehicles available to owners who have suggestions or issues. Direct contact to Tracy Canty and/or individual Board members, as well as attendance at the Annual Meeting, are the most expeditious.
  • It has been suggested that TV sets be wall-mounted. Discussion tabled to next meeting.

There being no further items for discussion, Gloria Kunz moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:46, seconded by Mark Thurston.

The next Mariner House Board of Director’s meeting will be held on March 19 at 7:00 P.M.

Respectfully Submitted,

Gloria Kunz

Secretary
