MINUTES:  MARINER HOUSE BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING:  JANUARY 18, 2022

By in Owners Only with 0 Comments

The first Mariner House Board of Directors meeting of 2022 was held via telephone conference call on Tuesday, January 18.  All Board members were present. Tammy Rausch was welcomed as a new Board member.  A quorum being established, President Bill Hathaway called the meeting to order at 6:02PM.  Tracy Canty also participated.

PROPERTY MANAGER REPORT

  • Covid is surging on Nantucket, with a 25% positivity rate.
  • We have received no further information of the status of those intervals in foreclosure.
  • The Aurora renovation is in progress, with an estimated completion date of end-February. Cabinets are ordered and in transit; the sub floors are being ripped up; building structural problems are being addressed and corrected as needed. Floors will be sheet vinyl, as opposed to wood or tile.  After investigation, it was determined that while cost is an issue, sheet vinal is the best option because of the age and structure of the building.
  • Barstow is also closed for repairs. Owners are put into another unit during the renovation, handled by Tracy on a case-by-case basis.
  • 1099s required for rental income have been sent to owners.
  • 2022 fees are being received; Tracy is compiling year-end financials for review by our accountant.
  • Joseph Guay will advise as to the most expeditious outcome regarding ownership transfer of a deceased owner. Bill Hathaway moved to ascertain the type of deed, and action in lieu of foreclosure.  Seconded by Mark Thurston and passed unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS

  • The issue of possible sale of Mariner House was raised at the Annual Meeting. A non-binding survey will be conducted shortly to assess ownership interest.  This item was tabled for discussion at the next Board meeting.

NEW BUSINESS

There being no new business or items for discussion, Gloria Kunz moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:40 p.m., seconded by Marty DeMartino and passed unanimously.

Respectfully submitted,

Gloria Kunz
